“I’m an Army Veteran, who got into photography and videography as a way of dealing with a traumatic event in my life which resulted in me being diagnosed with PTSD. I first discovered a passion for capturing images with a drone a couple of years ago. Recently, to improve my skills I undertook the A2 CofC Drone Scholarship with the Air League and Eagle Eye Innovations.

The scholarship gave me the skills and knowledge to operate my drone safely and in accordance with the laws and regulations set out by the CAA, I’ve gained confidence in using my drone since completing the course which has allowed me to do more and capture better images.

Since doing the course, it’s opened my eyes to the aviation industry and in particular, the growing use of drones. In the long term, I can see myself working in the security industry, utilising drones as a part of that role. However, in the meantime, I will continue flying as a hobby and capturing more exciting imagery to share with the world from my drone.”

Simon has also sent in some of the images he has captured using his drone: great work Simon! To see more of Simon’s images including drone content, follow the button below to his website.
