Monday 6th June, the Air League held its Empowering Women in Aviation Reception in the Churchill Room, House of Commons,, that had a purpose to connect grassroots aviation and STEM activities with industry opportunities from career entry through to senior level.

The event was interactive and involved all participants to generate some clear outcomes, and a plan to generate a
roadmap that helps join the work undertaken at grass roots with the steps required to reach senior leadership roles was produced
As the British Gliding Association builds up to the 11th FAI Women’s World Gliding Championship, due to be held in August, the Empowering Women in Aviation Reception also aimed to highlight how the Championships’ inspires people, particularly women and girls, to experience the sport and community of gliding, and to help women already in the sport grow their ability and enjoyment.
