Congratulations to Christian and Georgina for completing their two-week Engineering Scholarship placements at Affinity Flying Training Services Limited!
Air League Engineering Scholarships, reopening in the future, enable young people interested in a career in aerospace engineering an opportunity to conduct hands-on work on current projects and shadow Engineering and Maintenance personnel. These Scholarships provide an insight into the career of an aerospace engineer.
Georgina, who is keen to pursue a career in planning or airworthiness spent time with Affinity’s CAMO and Planning teams. Christian, who is currently studying Aircraft Maintenance and Management, spent his time with the Part 145 and Operations team.
“Thank you for allowing me to spend 2 weeks exploring the lesser seen side of management in an aviation company. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time and learnt a lot. The airworthiness team with whom I’ve spent most of my time have been amazing at showing me what they get up to and getting me involved in their work.”- Georgina.
“I have found the scholarship from Affinity amazing, and I am fortunate to have been awarded it. I’ve enjoyed seeing how the business operates day to day. I’ve loved getting involved in the engineering aspect of it and gaining more knowledge. Getting my first bit of work signed off in my logbook was a highlight. I’ve loved every minute of it”- Christian.
The Air League thanks Affinity Flying Training Services for its continued support of the Engineering Scholarships.
