We are delighted to announce the third instalment of our ‘Leaders, Pioneers and Professionals’ webinar series will be with Mark Johnston, Group Chief Engineer of Marshall Aerospace and Defence Group on the 23rd June 2020 at 5.00pm.

Nick West, our CEO will be joined by young panel members in the discussion with Mark.

As well as speaking to Mark, the Air League has been given access to a Project Management course that the Marshall Centre offers. Please visit the Aero Portal if you are interested in taking part in this course. This is a great course that can be done as a refresher on Project Management best practice or for those just embarking on their careers. Project Management skills are very applicable to most occupations and provide a structured framework not just to delivering projects but also pieces of work that need an element of planning.

Mark joined Marshall Aerospace and Defence Group in 1984 as an apprentice and has gained over 35 years of experience in the aerospace business with a diverse knowledge of the industry demonstrated across the whole spectrum of aerospace disciplines.

Over the years, Mark has worked on many UK MOD projects seeing the Tri-Star both in and out of service and working on many associated modifications on that aircraft throughout its life. Similarly Mark has worked on both the C130K and J platforms for a variety of customers.

Mark was appointed Engineering Director in 2013, following his many achievements here at Marshall.  These included roles such as Chief Engineer responsible for projects such as the A400M Flight Test Bed and the Boeing 747 Auxiliary Fuel Tank.  He has also held key Engineering Functional roles of Head of Mechanical and Fluid Systems, Head of Structural Design and was Chief Designer for four years.
