The Air League, together with Southend-on-Sea Borough Council is inviting young people of South Essex including Southend, Thurrock, Rochford and beyond to come and take part in the Soaring to Success which is landing in the region from September 2020.
The Air League and partners had a successful launch to the event in August 2020 when we took young people from voluntary organisations co-ordinated by SAVS in the South Essex region gliding with us at Cambridge Gliding Centre. This was a fantastic event and we were blown away by the overwhelmingly positive feedback from this event. Again, our thanks go to those who made it possible.
The Soaring to Success is now ready to take off and will see lots of activities being brought to South Essex that showcase the Aviation and Aerospace industries through a series of workshops, competitions and gliding opportunities in 2020-2021.
We will be providing resources through participating schools but also want to offer this opportunity out to all young people in the region who are passionate, interested or curious about aviation and aerospace. The activities will be mostly aimed at 14-18 year olds but we will be providing some learning resources for primary school aged children as well as inviting those young adults who are already over 18 to take part as well. It is never too early or late to get into aviation!
