THE PROMOTERS
The Promoters are Air League Trust of 4 Hamilton Pl, London W1J 7BQ in partnership with Sustainable Aviation, IAG and British Airways.
THE COMPETITION
The title of the competition is Innovators’ Global Challenge 2025 – Net Zero Aviation.
The poster competition is open to all those aged 11 to 15. Students studying at UK institutions or are home schooled in the UK are invited by the Promoters to enter a competition to support the Aviation Industry in promoting awareness of achieving Net Zero Carbon Emissions by 2050. All submitted posters will be displayed at the Sustainable Skies conference on the 14th and 15th of May. Winners will informed using the email address the entry was submitted on and be announced on the Air League website by the 23rd of May 2025.
The proposal competition is open to all those in full or part time education; sixth form, college, university students and apprentices are encouraged to apply. Students and apprentices studying at UK institutions or employed by UK organisations are invited by the Promoters to enter a competition to support the Aviation Industry in achieving Net Zero Carbon Emissions by 2050.
HOW TO ENTER
The competition will launch on Tuesday 11th March 2025 at 12:00 BST.
All competition entries must be submitted by Friday 25th April 2025 at 17:00 BST. All competition entries received after this time are automatically disqualified.
Competition entries must be submitted in a Word or PDF document headed with your team name and Innovators’ Global Challenge – Net Zero Aviation via email to scholarships@airleague.co.uk. Posters must be no larger than A3 and proposals must not exceed 1,000 words.
There is no charge to enter.
By submitting a competition entry, you are agreeing to be bound by these terms and conditions.

SHORTLISTED PROPOSAL ENTRIES
6 shortlisted entries will be contacted by the 6th of April 2025 using the email address used to submit the competition entry.
These shortlisted entries will invited to the Farnborough International Airshow on Friday 22nd June 2022 to present their ideas to a panel of judges, as part of the final stage of judging.
Travel and accommodation assistance will be provided on a case-by-case basis and will be dependent on several factors like distance required to travel and means available.
ELIGIBILITY
Teams for the poster competition should be made up of no more than four participants and for the proposal competition no more than six participants. Team members should only consist of students. Participants can be from one institution or be a collaboration of several institutions. We encourage a collaborative process, however the competitions can be entered by individuals if you wish to work alone.
In entering the competition, each team member confirms that they are eligible to do so and eligible to claim any prizes the team may win. The Promoters may require teams to provide proof that they are eligible to enter the competition.
The Promoters will not accept entries that are plagiarised.
The Promoters reserve all rights to disqualify teams if your conduct is contrary to the spirit or intention of the competition.
THE PRIZE
The prizes do not include the cost of materials, travel insurance, the cost of transfers to and from airports or stations, food and drink, spending money, tax or personal expenses. Any other costs incurred in addition to reasonable travel expenses to and from the Sustainable Skies conference that are incidental to the fulfilment of the prize are the responsibility of the winning team.
For the proposal competition, you will be responsible for ensuring that you are available to attend the conferences and judging panel on the relevant dates. You will be responsible for ensuring you and any person travelling with you have the relevant visas and travel documents in order to attend the conference and symposium.
The Promoters reserve the right to replace the prize with an alternative conference(s) and travel arrangements if circumstances beyond the Promoters control makes it necessary to do so.

All prizes are not negotiable or transferable.

WINNERS
The competition entries will be judged by a panel of judges. Judging will be based on:
Clarity of Explanation: How well the topic is explained.
Creativity: Originality and visual appeal of the design.
Relevance: How effectively the poster highlights the importance of sustainability in aviation.
Meeting UK aviation’s carbon reduction targets
Ability to implement the proposal
The decision of the judges nominated by the Promoters is final and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into.
The winner of the proposal competition will be announced at the final event on 14th May 2025 at the Sustainable Skies conference at Farnborough International as well as on the Air League Trust and British Airways online channels.
All finalist proposals (team name and synopsis) will be published and promoted on the Air League and Sustainable Aviation website and in other media channels.
If you object to any or all of information being published or made available, please contact the Promoters on info@airleague.co.uk. In such circumstances, the Promoters must still provide the information and winning entry to the Advertising Standards Authority on request.
CLAIMING THE PRIZE
The Promoter will also contract the winning teams on the email address provided to make arrangements regarding the prize after the winners have been announced.
The prize may not be claimed by a third party on your behalf.
The Promoter does not accept any responsibility if you are not able to take up the prize.
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
Insofar as is permitted by law, the Promoter, its agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize except where it is caused by the negligence of the Promoter, its agents or distributors or that of their employees. Your statutory rights are not affected.
OWNERSHIP OF COMPETITION ENTRIES AND INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS
The Promoter does not claim any rights of ownership in your competition entry.
You agree that the Promoter may, but is not required to, promote details of your entry on their websites, or sustainable aviation websites, and in any other media, whether now known or invented in the future, and in connection with any publicity of the competition. You agree to grant the Promoters a non-exclusive, worldwide, irrevocable licence, for the full period of any intellectual property rights in the competition entry and any accompanying materials, to use, display, publish, transmit, copy, edit, alter, store, re-format and sub-licence the competition entry and any accompanying materials for such purposes.
CONFIDENTIALTY
All entrants must keep details of their competition entry confidential until the winners are announced.
All entrants acknowledge that during the presentations other finalist teams may observe their presentation. All entrants must keep details of the other competition entrant’s projects and ideas confidential except where agreed otherwise with that competition entrant.
DATA PROTECTION AND PUBLICITY
The Promoters will only process your personal information as set out in the following page: GDPR-Privacy-Notice-document-2020.pdf (airleague.co.uk) only in connection with the competition and these terms and conditions.
GENERAL
If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these terms and conditions, the Promoters may, at their sole discretion, reserve the right to exclude you from participating in the competition.
The Promoters reserve the right to hold void, suspend, cancel, or amend the prize competition where it becomes necessary to do so.
These terms and conditions shall be governed by English law, and the parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
