Join us at 7.15pm on Wednesday 24th November at the Royal Aeronautical Society for the Sir Andrew Humphrey Memorial Lecture.

The Air League is delighted to confirm the 2021 lecture will be delivered by John Holland-Kaye, Chief Executive of Heathrow Airport, on his vision for the UK’s future aviation strategy, sustainability, and recovery.

In 2021 Heathrow celebrates 75 years of being the gateway to Britain. Each year thousands of businesses across the UK rely on Heathrow’s route network for getting their goods and services to key trading partners, which in turn provides the jobs and economic opportunities needed to level up their companies and their local economies.

The Lecture, in its 42nd year keeps alive the memory of Marshal of the Royal Air Force Sir Andrew Humphrey, whose sudden and premature death in 1977 at the age of 56, whilst serving as Chief of the Defence Staff was a great loss to the Royal Air Force and to the nation. The annual lecture aims to perpetuate Sir Andrew’s deep commitment to airmindedness and celebrates his remarkable journey from Battle of Britain fighter pilot to Chief of the Defence Staff, that was ultimately cut short.

Over the past five decades, leaders, experts, and visionaries from all areas within aviation, aerospace, defence and space have delivered presentations on significant subjects, issues, and agendas important within their respective field.
