The Air League is delighted to announce that Boeing has once again demonstrated its support to the beneficiaries of the charity’s impactful programmes, reinforcing a long-standing partnership dedicated to Changing Lives Through Aviation.

For over a decade, Boeing has played a pivotal role in advancing The Air League’s mission, and this latest grant further strengthens the collaboration between the UK’s leading aviation charity and the global aerospace company.

With Boeing’s ongoing support, The Air League will continue to expand its programmes, including Soaring to Success, the Battle Back veteran’s recovery programme and Gliding to Solo scholarships, which provide young people and injured veterans across the UK with life-changing opportunities in aviation and aerospace.

Additionally, Boeing’s sponsored initiative, Project Slingshot, an aircraft build undertaken by student cohorts from Aston UTC, continues to drive real career opportunities for young people. Remarkably, 100% of participants who have contributed to the project are now working in the aviation or aerospace sectors, underscoring the programme’s transformative impact. With the aircraft nearing completion, this achievement would not have been possible without Boeing’s support and commitment to inspiring the next generation of industry professionals.

These initiatives help participants build confidence, gain new experiences, and explore fulfilling careers, ensuring that the sector remains accessible to talented individuals from all backgrounds.

“I am delighted that our partnership with The Air League continues,” said Maria Laine, president of Boeing in the UK, Ireland and Nordic region.  “Our collaboration, which moves from strength to strength, reflects a mutual determination to engage with and inspire young people into the world of aerospace as well as giving support to our disabled veterans through the power of flying.”

Together, The Air League and Boeing remain committed to inspiring the next generation, improving social mobility, and fostering a diverse, skilled workforce for the future of aviation and aerospace. This renewed partnership will continue to inspire, break barriers to entry, and empower young people to reach their full potential.
