The Air League wishes to note the sad passing of Laurie Price, who throughout his professional career, brought both vision and change to the world of aviation.

Laurie Price was the former Director of Aviation Strategy for Mott MacDonald. He spent 20 years with British Caledonian Airways and British Airways, holding several positions, including having responsibility for Government affairs.

Laurie Price was also an aviation adviser to the UK House of Commons Select Committee on Transport between 1997 and 2005. He advised the All Party Parliamentary Group on aviation until 2015 and most recently, he was an aviation adviser to the UK House of Commons All Party Parliamentary Group on General Aviation. He was chairman of the Government General Aviation Red Tape Challenge Panel between 2013 and 2015.

Laurie held a Master of Science Degree in Transportation Planning from the University of Westminster, was a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society, and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport. He held both UK and US private pilot licences.

Laurie was a huge contributor to policy and economic development for the Government, the Air League and UK Aviation generally. He was often called on to provide commentary on aviation economic and policy issues for the media and was a regular lecturer on air transport to major UK universities and a conference presenter.

Laurie was an avid member and supporter of the Air League. He provided guidance and direction on aviation related matters and helped the Air League bring these to the forefront of debate. His contribution to the industry he was so passionate about will be sorely missed.

The Air League wishes to extend our heartfelt condolences to the Price family during this difficult time.
