The Air League is delighted to welcome Aston Martin onboard as a corporate supporter of the charity, building on the announcement in November 2019 that proceeds from the DBS Superleggera Concorde Edition sales will help change lives through aviation.

In 2020 the Air League will be partnering with Aston Martin under the Aston Martin Wings Series, which brings together all of the luxury marque’s aviation-related projects.

Under “Aston Martin Wings”, Air League Engineering Scholars will have the opportunity to experience Aeronautical and Automotive Engineering first hand with Aston Martin’s close ties to aviation.

Aston Martin has a long and proud association with aviation and in particular the Royal Air Force. Three of its four UK manufacturing locations are situated on former RAF stations at Gaydon, Wellesbourne and St Athan, where a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility has just been built inside ex-MOD Super Hangars.

This heritage and strong connection to the RAF has led Aston Martin to bring its aviation projects together under “Aston Martin Wings”, an exciting programme which will see Aston Martin’s bespoke service, Q by Aston Martin deliver further limited edition models linked to aviation over the coming years.

Launched in November 2019 to celebrate the golden anniversary of the first flight of the world’s only supersonic passenger jet Aston Martin Lagonda and British Airways have teamed up to create the DBS Superleggera Concorde Edition

Strictly limited to just 10 cars to be built by Aston Martin’s bespoke Q Division, the DBS Superleggera Concorde Edition, is available to purchase exclusively from Aston Martin Bristol.

To honour how Concorde inspired a generation of aeronautical engineers, part of the proceeds from each Concorde Edition DBS Superleggera will be donated to a cause close to our hearts, the Air League Trust, a not-for-profit organisation that teaches under-privileged children how to fly and work in engineering. Dedicated to supporting the UK’s aviation and aerospace industries, it is the UK’s largest provider of flying scholarships and bursaries.
