The Air League will be attending Farnborough International Airshow 16th-22nd July 2018. Our team will be located in the Outside Area, R6 to meet with members of other organisations as well as the public. This is a great opportunity to come and meet the team and find out more about the work of the Air League – both in terms of what we do for Aviation and Aerospace in the UK through our papers and parliamentary events together with our corporate sponsors but also how we support young people to advance their careers in aviation as well as through aviation.
We will also be taking part in ADS’s Futures Day on Friday 20th July. The Airshow is the perfect backdrop to motivate young people to study STEM subjects and discover the many different career opportunities available in the dynamic sectors of Aerospace and Defence. In 2016 Futures Day attracted over 5,000 young people. This year, The Air League team will be on hand to give careers advice to those who are interested in becoming pilots or engineers and talking about how our scholarships can get you further in your dream career. We will also be running interactive workshops to help prepare for different assessment situations such as interviews and group exercises when going for that all-important first job.
European Space Agency Astronaut, Tim Peake, will officially open Futures Day 2018, before groups set off to participate in a trail around the airshow site combined with an interactive programme of activities.
